2nd Annual JCSCI Foundation Golf Tournament 2006!

1st Annual JCSCI Foundation Golf Tournament a Winner!

The 2005 Justin Cochran Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Foundation Golf Tournament was a big success! The weather was great as well as the course conditions at Egwani Farms Golf Course in Rockford, TN. So many supportive people came out to meet Justin and have a fun day of Golf. We had many wonderful and generous sponsors supporting the tournament. All participants received several great gifts and prizes in appreciation for golfing in the event. After all was said and done, the tournament raised much more than expected. Many of this year's participants have already said they will be there next year for the second annual Justin Cochran Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Foundation Golf Tournament.

O'Charley's Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

The pancake breakfast at O'Charley's Restaurant in Knoxville, TN was a huge success!!! Thanks to organizer Denise Yeo, Modern Woodmen of America from Knoxville/Karns area, O'Charley's Restaurant, all of the numerous volunteers as well as Matt Helms with United Food Services for donating pancake mix, Scott Fitch with H.T. Hackeny for donating syrup, Brenda Macluse with Reily Foods for donating JFG Coffee, Joe Qualls with Mayfield for donating milk, Greg Floyd, Bennie Brwer, Bruce Cole and Ken Myers with Crossmark for donating sausage, bacon, orange juice and syrup, and O'Charley's for donating butter, coffee creamer and sugar. The wonderful people of East Tennessee raised over $16,000 for the purchase of a van for Justin! Since the fundraiser started in a Sunday school class with the sole intention to help Justin purchase a much needed van, all funds were donated toward that purchase. Modern Woodmen of America had agreed to match $2,500 of funds raised, if it was possible to raise that much from a two hour pancake breakfast. On the morning of April 23, 2005, Justin and his family were overwhelmed by the outpour of generosity displayed by so many people as well as the spiritual faith that inspired so many to give that morning. As stated, the donations far surpassed the $2,500 mark. Thanks to all!!
